Cleaning isn’t exactly our favourite pastime and we imagine a lot of you are with us on that. It costs a lot of time and it can be exhausting as well, but it simply has to happen. We don’t want to live in a big, gross mess, of course. That’s why we’ve got a list of tricks for you today that will help you get through household chores a lot more efficiently and quickly.
These tips will make cleaning much more efficient.
1. The oven
Has your oven dish overflowed or did the cheese spill from your pizza? Clean the stains as quickly as possible because these food scraps will get properly stuck before you know it. Of course, you can hardly clean the oven while it’s still hot, but to prevent everything from sticking, we’ve got a tip for you. When your dish is done baking, take it out of the oven and put in another dish or bowl filled with water. Let this sit in there for 20 minutes and then turn off the oven. As soon as the oven has cooled down, you’ll be able to very easily remove the stains since the steam of the water has soaked everything loose.
2. The shower
Limescale and soap residue builds up in the shower at lightning speed. To prevent this from happening, the best thing to do is to wipe the walls and door of your shower with a squeegee after every use. These 20 seconds work will save you a lot of scrubbing time later when you’ll have to remove the caked on residue.
Ironing your clothes is a very time-consuming chore. You can save yourself a lot of time and work by letting your blouses and shirts dry on a hanger. Are there still wrinkles in there after drying? Try hanging the item of clothing in the shower while you’re showering; the hot steam will remove the wrinkles from the fabric.
4. Trash bags
Take out the trash bag, tie it shut, take a new bag out of a cupboard, put it in the trash can – it’s not a lot of work, but you can do it even faster. Store your new trash bags at the bottom of the trash can. This will save you time getting the bags out of the kitchen cupboard.
The bigger your house, the more stuff you have, probably. The more stuff, the more you need to tidy. Each week, pick one room you’re going to tidy. Every time you get around to a room, you throw out stuff you no longer use or don’t like any longer. You can store stuff you would like to keep but don’t use a lot in the garage or the attic. This will save you a lot of tidying in the future.
