The Volt Infinity is one of the most high-tech bikes you can sit your butt on right now

One of the first times I rode an electric bicycle, I had “see you later Granddad” shouted at me from a Lycra-clad cyclist. But more recently perceptions have changed. No longer is it just older generations in need of a little boost for challenging hills that buy electric bikes, and Volt – a brand specializing in this field – can certainly vouch for that. The electric bike firm has been in the game for quite some time, but its most recent release: the VOLT Infinity, is arguably one of the most advanced e-bikes on the UK market and is positively brimming with technology.

Equipped with the Shimano STEPS crank drive, Shimano Alfine 11 speed DI-2 internal hub electronic gearing, the Volt Infinity provides extremely smooth gear changes at the touch of a button, making the Infinity one of the most highly spec’d electric bikes on the market.

Along with its unique sleek frame design, the Infinity also boasts a few new bonus features. Integrated lights that run off the high capacity Sony battery as well as new Schwalbe tyres. One of the key new features, however, is the latest Shimano cycling computer, with easy-to-read high-contrast display that allows you to turn on the lights and motor remotely. If you’re looking for the most tech savvy bike in town, this is it.

Navigating yourself through busy city streets at rush hour on a dark evening can be stressful enough to get any cyclist’s handlebars in a twist. Enter Laserlight, a rechargeable 300 lumen LED bike light with a bonus safety feature: a laser. Thanks to forward projection technology, Laserlight combines a white light and a bicycle laser image to beam out of blind spots, junctions and situations where you’re otherwise unseen. The laser projects a bike symbol six meters in front of you, visible by fellow road users from various perspectives and increasing your safety.

Never lose your bike again

The GPS-305 is a tracker that hides in your bike’s handlebars to prevent your bike being stolen when traditional locks do not. It is completely invisible, placed in a head tube, and transmits a GPS signal so you can always know where your bike is, even when in the hands of a thief. It’s easy to install, and better still, it can’t be removed with a special set of tools. Catch that bike thief red-handed.
